Section 4.1 of Hazardous Regulations 2017 states that only a Certified Handler can handle HSNO class 6.1A and 6.1B.

Section 206 of the HSWA states that a PCBU must not direct or allow a worker to carry out work, if regulations require the work to only be carried out by a person who is authorised (e.g., Certified Handler)

Breaches of Section 206 can lead to fines:

• for an individual, up to $20,000:

• for any other (PCBU or Officer), up to $100,000.
